First Baptist Church was organized under the Lordship of Christ in 1889. We are an autonomous Baptist congregation gathered around one shared belief — the Bible as the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, and the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. From that belief flow our purposes: to glorify God, gather for worship, equip one another for ministry, and carry the gospel across Lavaca and DeWitt counties.
