intercede – to act or interpose in behalf of someone in difficulty or trouble, as by pleading or petition

Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died– more than that, who was raised– who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. (Romans 8:34 ESV)

“Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25 ESV)

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.   And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:26-27 ESV)

“If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me.” (Robert Murray M’Cheyne)

To know that so many of you pray for me is a tremendous blessing (for which I am very thankful), but to realize the mind-blowing reality–God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are constantly praying to God the Father for me–is an inexhaustible well of joy and contentment.
